| 2006: Failed to allow a “back-to-back” jinx be thrown upon him as he tied for third nationally in interceptions per game (0.55) with six INTs on the year • Led the team in tackles with 75, including 43 solo stops • Selected to the Sheridan Black College Football All-America Tam • Saw action in all 11 games for the ‘Cats, as well as making his way into the starting rotation in all of those games • Made his way into the offensive backfield twice for stops, including a loss of two yards total • Broke-up two passes on the campaign.
2005: During his sophomore campaign, Williams accomplished every single-game best while playing in all but one contest • Played in 10-of-11 games for the Wildcats as a free safety, including making the start in nine of those contests • Grabbed in a team-leading six interceptions, while collecting 80 yards in returns off picks • Named to the All-MEAC First Team defensive backfield • Tied for third in the nation for interceptions (0.60), while leading the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) in that category • Had a career-high 39 yards on an interception return against Savannah State in the 13th Annual CSRA Classic in Augusta, Ga. • Finished the year fourth on the squad in total tackles with 52 to his credit • Tallied 30 primary and 22 assisted tackles on the season, including entering the opposing backfield for 1.5 tackles for losses of 12 yards.
2004: Was one of a handful of redshirt freshman to start for the Wildcats on defense, not to mention the defensive backfield—a position Bethune-Cookman head coach Alvin B. Wyatt, Sr. takes very serious • Completed the season ranked second on the Wildcats defense in total tackles with 58 on the campaign, including 26 primary and 38 assists • Collected 3.5 tackles for losses of 11 yards • Entered the opposing backfield for two quarterback sacks for a loss of nine yards combined • Grabbed in one interception with a return of 15 yards, as well as one pass deflection on the year • Had two (2) games with double-digit tackles • Had a season-high 11 tackles (four solo / seven assists) at home against Howard.
2003: Redshirted.
High School: Williams helped Miami Norland Senior to a nice record of 13-2 in 2002 • Helped the Vikings in winning the Division 6-A (AAAAAA) State Championship under head coach Nigel Dunn • Tabbed as a First Team All-State selection in 2002 • Recorded the longest interception return in school history as a senior with a 100-yard return—unofficially 108 yards • Posted nine (9) interceptions as a freshman with the Vikings program with two returns for touchdown • Collected 116 tackles and five interceptions (two for touchdown), including the game-winning score during his senior year • Also made official visits to the University of Florida and Michigan State before arriving at Bethune-Cookman University.
Personal: Bobbie Williams was born to the world as Bobbie Williams, Jr. on December 20, 1984 in his hometown of Miami, Fla. • He is the son of Melvina and Bobbie Williams, Sr. • Currently working towards a degree in Physical Education • Came to B-CU because of the solid football program • Wants to break all records held by a defensive back at B-CU before leaving • Lists his other hobbies as playing basketball and running track • Says his dad is the biggest athletic influence in his life because he has always been there for him, no matter what. |
