How Acquired: Signed as an unrestricted free agent Sept. 3, 2006.
Future Contract Status
2007: After being noted by head coach Brad Childress as a receiver the team really liked at the 2007 owners meetings, Nance spent the entire 2007 season on the Vikings’ practice squad.
2006: Signed with the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted free agent. Released by Buffalo Sept. 2 as part of their final round of cuts. Signed to the Vikings practice squad Sept. 3. Signed to the 53-man roster Dec. 19. Inactive for the Week 16 game vs. Green Bay, but started the season finale against St. Louis, catching four passes for 33 yards.
College: A three-year starter for Miami (Ohio). As a redshirt sophomore in 2003, he caught 90 passes for 1,498 yards and 11 touchdowns – all single-season school records. Capped off that season with a nine-catch, 169-yard, one-TD game in the GMAC Bowl to beat Louisville. Had his junior season cut short with a torn left ACL. In five games, he caught 25 passes for 337 yards and one touchdown. Returned to full strength as a senior, catching 81 passes for 1,107 yards and 14 touchdowns. Left Miami with the school record for receiving yards and tied for the all-time lead in touchdowns.
Personal: His cousin, Todd Jenkins, was a wide receiver for Northwestern from 1980-83. Was a two-sport letterman in football and track and was a captain of his high school football team as a senior.
