| Biography: |
An enormously talented athlete, Mike had offers to both Arizona and UTEP as a high school senior (Orange League's Lineman of the Year in 2004, two way starter, and Second Team All-CIF defensive tackle) before selecting Idaho and grayshirting the 2005 season. He was a backup left guard for Idaho in 2006, then the 6-6, 325 pound lineman took command of the starting left guard position last season (2007) and became one of Idaho's hardest hitting linemen. He has the size and strength (390 bench, 580 squat) to be a dominant force in 2008, and should garner serious interest from the NFL.
He was so valuable in the Vandal trenches in 2007 that he also earned reps on the Vandal D-line in short yardage situations (made his first defensive play in a game on the goal line in the season opener against USC).
Mike is nursing an injury this spring and has been held out of most drills.
