2008: Driver ranked second on the team with 74 receptions for 1,012 yards and five touchdowns, concluding the season 19 catches behind Sterling Sharpe for the team record. He also has 7,989 career receiving yards, good for fourth in team history and only 2 yards behind Don Hutson and 145 yards behind Sharpe for second place. Already the Lambeau Field leader in receptions, he passed Antonio Freeman in Lambeau Field receiving yards with 3,823. He caught a pass in all 16 games, running his streak to 111, and extended his streak of 70-catch seasons to five. He got better as the season went on, a byproduct of improved chemistry with Aaron Rodgers. Before the bye, he averaged 4.1 receptions per game and 11.4 yards per reception. After it, he averaged 5.0 receptions and 15.2 yards per grab.
2007: Despite catching only two touchdown passes in the regular season, Driver led the team with 82 catches for 1,048 yards and earned his second consecutive and third career Pro Bowl selection. ... Tied a franchise record with 1,000 receiving yards in a fifth overall season, joining Sterling Sharpe and Pro Football Hall of Famer James Lofton as one of three Packers to achieve that feat. ... His 90-yard touchdown catch in the NFC Championship Game briefly gave the Packers a lead.
2006: Had career highs in receptions (92) and yards receiving (1,295), and his third straight 1,000-yard season. ... Named to the NFC squad for the annual Pro Bowl in February. ... 2003: After his breakout 2002 season, Driver took a step backward production-wise with 52 catches for 621 yards, a 11.9 average and two touchdowns (compared with 70, 1,064, 15.2, 9). Part of the dropoff can be attributed to being a larger focus of opposing defenses. Another reason could be the horrific fall suffered during the opener against Minnesota when he leaped for a pass and landed on his head.
1999 - 2002: Caught 37 passes in the first three seasons before starting all 16 games in 2002 with 70 catches, 1,064 yards and nine touchdowns. |
