| OVERVIEW: Clemson's best player in term's of putting pressure on the quarterback, but was not available in the Gator Bowl. Sapp suffered a torn ACL in the first half at Virginia. He has had 10 tackles for loss each of the last two years, had 10 tackles for loss in just 347 snaps last year after playing 620 snaps as a sophomore, had 9.5 tackles for loss in ACC games, seventh-most in the ACC and was named defensive player-of-the-game against Maryland. He's had 26 career tackles for loss and 11 sacks, most among active Tigers. Sapp has played 36 career games (22 starts), he suffered a knee injury against #24 Alabama and played just 13 snaps; he missed The Citadel game recovering. Sapp had a sack in 15 snaps against N.C. State, had six tackles and three tackles for loss against Maryland, had 2.5 tackles for loss against Georgia Tech, three tackles at Boston College and a sack at #24 Florida State. He looks to come back healthy this year. |
