| 2002 Season: Larry Fitzgerald's freshman season at starting flanker drew nation-wide attention with 69 receptions for 1,005 yards, averaging 14.6 per reception and 77.3 yards per game. He scored 12 touchdowns. Larry earned Freshman All-American honors and broke many Pitt freshman receiving records.
At Valley Forge Military Academy (PA) in 2001, Larry had 35 receptions for 420 yards and seven touchdowns in six games. At the Academy of the Holy Angels (Minn.), he was named First Team All-Midwest by the Detroit Free Press (senior year) and twice named First Team All-Minnesota (junior and senior years). He was selected as the fifth-ranked receiver in the country by PrepStar, 12th-ranked receiver in the country by SuperPrep, and 19th-ranked receiver in the country by Rivals100.com. |
