Philadelphia Eagles rookie offensive tackle Danny Watkins agreed to a $7.935 million contract, according to a league source with knowledge of the situation.

Drafted 23rd overall out of Baylor, the Canada native and converted hockey player's deal included a $4.3 million signing bonus.

The Eagles and Watkins were haggling over the former All-Big 12 blocker seeking four years of 100-percent guaranteed money.

However, the Eagles refused to capitulate on that request and only would guarantee the first three years. Ultimately, Watkins decided it was best to get into training camp and now he has ended his brief holdout.

The Cleveland Browns played their first football game on September 6th, 1946 against the Miami Seahawks and promptly went on to dominate the All-American Football Conference until it folded in 1949. Leaping to the NFL, the Cleveland Browns under the leadership of Paul Brown dominated the 1950s and 1960s as well, spawning a wealth of innovation and talent. After the team was sold to Art Modell in the early 60s, the teams fortunes began to fade, although the Browns won the NFL championship in 1964. In 1995, Modell moved the team to Baltimore, although Browns fans fought for and retained the rights to the franchise's name, colors, records, and history. The Browns re-started as an expansion franchise in 1999.
