| Saints sign kicker John Kasay by Aaron Wilson of Scout.com, April 23, 2012 at 7:26 pm ET John Kasay Profile The New Orleans Saints have re-signed veteran kicker John Kasay to a one-year contract, the team announced. Kasay set frnachise records with 147 total points and 63 extra points last season. He connected on 28 of 34 field goals, an 82.4 percent success rate. The 21-year veteran is a former Seattle Seahawks fourth-round pick from the University of Georgia back in 1991. He kicked for the Carolina Panthers from 1995 to 2010 where he became the franchise’s all-time leading scorer with 1,482 points. For his career, Kasay has made 461-of-563 (81.9 percent) field goal attempts and 587-of-598 extra point attempts with 1,970 total points. Kasay is ranked sixth in NFL record books in field goals, eighth in points scored and ninth in games played.
