Dan Koppen Profile
Veteran center Dan Koppen is rejoining the Denver Broncos, according to a league source.
Koppen started a dozen games last season for the AFC West champions and played in all but one game.
His pending re-signing follows center J.D. Walton having another surgical procedure on his left ankle that's expected to sideline him until at least October.
Koppen, 33, has started 132 of 136 career games since entering the NFL in 2003 with the New England Patriots as a fifth-round draft pick.
The 6-foot-2, 300-pounder is entering his 11th NFL season.
He was named to the Pro Bowl during the 2007 season.
At Boston College, Koppen was an All-Big East Conference selection and was a finalist for the Rimington Trophy given to the nation's top center.
Koppen signed a one-year contract with the Broncos on Sept. 10, 2012 last year after being released by the Patriots.
