Colin Brown Profile
The Kansas City Chiefs have reached a contract agreement with fifth-round
pick OT Colin Brown, Scout.com has confirmed. According to a
league source, it's a three-year deal worth nearly $1.34 million with a signing
bonus of close to $154,000.
Brown (6-7, 335) saw action in 43 games (28 starts) at the University of
Missouri, where he earned All-Big 12 honors as a junior and senior. He helped
guide the Tigers to their first number one ranking in the AP poll since ’60 and
was part of a prolific offense that finished in the nation’s top 10 in total
offense his final two seasons. Brown played in three bowl victories and two Big
12 Conference Championship Games during his college career.
Brown started all 14 games at right tackle for Missouri in 2008. He earned
All-Big 12 honorable mention accolades and was named the team’s Offensive
Lineman of the Year by his teammates and coaches. He was part of an offensive
unit that finished eighth in the country in total offense (484.2 ypg), fourth in
passing (330.4 ypg) and sixth in scoring (42.2 ppg).
Brown lined up at right tackle during the team's OTA practices and is expected
to be the main backup to starting RT Damion McIntosh this season.
