Reggie Hayward Profile
The Jacksonville Jaguars placed starting DE Reggie Hayward on injured
reserve and signed CB Kennard Cox off their practice practice squad, the
team announced Tuesday. The Jaguars also signed DE Robert Henderson to
the practice squad.
Hayward suffered a broken leg last Sunday during the team's game at the
Indianapolis Colts. DE James Wyche is listed as his backup.
Cox, 6-0, 197, was waived from the active roster on September 7 and signed to
the practice squad the next day. He was originally a seventh-round pick of
Buffalo in 2008 and was signed by the Jaguars off Green Bay’s practice squad on
December 8. He played in the final two games of the season on special teams.
Henderson, 6-3, 283, was a sixth-round pick of the New York Giants in 2008 and
spent his entire rookie season on injured reserve with an ankle injury suffered
in the first preseason game. Henderson played in 46 games with 33 starts at
Southern Mississippi, finishing with 173 tackles, 13.5 sacks and 29.5 tackles
for loss. He was an All-Conference USA first-team choice as a senior. A native
of Ponchatoula, La., he was a first-team all-state selection at Ponchatoula High
School where he played defensive end and running back.
