The Baltimore Ravens have signed LB Prescott Burgess off the New England Patriots practice squad, a league source told Scout.com. To make room for him on their 53-man roster, the Ravens are expected to place LB Brendon Ayanbadejo (quadriceps) on IR.

Burgess was traded to New England from Baltimore on September 22 in exchange for a conditional seventh-round pick. Burgess was waived less than a week later then signed to New England's practice squad on September 30. Baltimore tried to sign Burgess from New England's practice squad last week, but a source said that a little known rule that stipulates a team can not sign a player off another team's practice squad if they are playing that team in the same week within six days of the game prevented the move from happening. Burgess passed through waivers on September 29 after being waived by New England on September 28.
