Antwan Odom Profile
The Cincinnati Bengals placed starting DE Antwan Odom on IR, the team
announced Monday.
A sixth-year NFL player in his second season with Cincinnati, Odom suffered a
torn right Achilles tendon in yesterday’s game against Houston at Paul Brown
Stadium.
Odom played in Games 1-6 this season and finishes his season as the Bengals’
leader in sacks, with 8.0. Entering tonight’s Denver-San Diego game, he is tied
with Denver OLB/DE Elvis Dumervil for the NFL sacks lead. Odom tied a
Bengals game record with five sacks on Sept. 20 of this year at Green Bay, and
his 7.0 sacks for the first two games this season were the most by any NFL
player in Games 1-2 since 1982, when individual sacks became an official
statistic. Odom also had 23 total tackles and two passes defensed in Games 1-6.
